Light vs Dark
When choosing floor and wall coverings, one must also consider the amount of light available for their project.
Rooms with little to no natural source of light can benefit from using light coloured tiles with polished finish. The light colour provides sense of space while the polished surface offers maximum light reflection.
For areas that receive abundant of lights, tile choosing can be more flexible. Darker tones and muted finishes can become options as the contrast they provide can greatly improve balance to the room.
Benefits
Proper lighting can enhance function or aesthetics of an area. For example, brightly lit study rooms can increase your children's level of attention as opposed to dim rooms. In contrast, dining room that is using limited indirect lighting will have a more elegant ambiance.
On the other hand poorly designed room lighting amounted to energy wastage and design disaster.
